Happy Valentine's Day!

Thank you to all who took the time to nominate family and special friends for the Valentine gift certificate giveaway. Many entries had me in tears - and some in laughter.

All who entered will receive a special something. Be watching for an e-mail with more details for those of you who entered.

The entry that was chosen for first place brought me to tears each time I read it. I just couldn't read it aloud to my fellow judges without getting to certain points where I was too choked up to read.

Below is the "winning entry" received from Savannah:

I think this is a really great thing that you are doing. Here's my story.

My sister gave birth to a little boy on August 15th 2006 at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada Oklahoma, but it was not just any normal birth, it was almost the end of what was supposed to be a new beginning. You see my sister started loosing a lot of blood and while she was pushing she ripped both sides of her Uterus and was immediately rushed for an emergency sea section. They got Kolton out and he wasn't breathing. He was purple and his face was swollen. In that time my sister was dieing and had to get 6 blood transfusions just to save her life! When they finally got her stabilized Kolton had started breathing but had to be put on oxygen for 5 days and so she couldn't even hold her new baby boy for 5days. When she finally saw him her heart dropped and thanked God that her and her little boy were still alive.

Well its been two years now and its been such a joy and a blessing to have this little boy in our lives. When he smiles at you its like seeing a little angel looking at you and when his little arms wrap around you you feel like heaven has just opened up, but you see, we got some horrible news about this sweet precious boy the day before Christmas Eve 2008...he started having all these bruises pop up out of no where and he was really pale. He was rushed up to OU Childrens Medical that night to have an emergency blood transfusion done and that night we found out some news that's everyones biggest fear. The doctors came out and said,"We are very sorry..but your little boy has Leukemia." We fell to our knees in the waiting room with out hearts full of questions that only God could answer. He stayed up there for 2 weeks through Christmas and the New year. My little nephew, bless his heart, still had that angel smile on his pale white face and just couldn't stop loving on all of us.

Its been a struggle ever since and all my sister keeps saying is,"I need to be taking pictures of him laughing and having fun." We know God is going to take care of this little boy and we have faith that he will stay with us forever and survive this. It would be such a blessing for my sister to receive this gift from you so she could cherish a beautiful portrait of her son whom shes went through so much with from birth all the way up to now and she loves nothing more than her baby boy. Hes a blessing from up above and your gift would mean so so much to my family. Please consider this :) Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Savannah Mott

I can't wait to meet little Kolton and his loving family!
